Executive Branch:
Powers of the Executive Branch reside in the Student Body President and Vice President. Their fellow students elect them each spring semester to fulfill the following obligations:
- Administer and enforce Student Body Laws;
- Sign or veto Senate acts;
- Call and preside over Student Body meetings;
- Recommend legislation to the Senate; and
- Create programs that address the needs of students or improve the campus.
Working to enhance the quality of life and college experience for Washburn Students, the executive officers voice the concerns of students tot eh administration and the community to help resolve those concerns. The Student Body President sits on several boards and serves on or appoints designees to various Washburn University committees and advisory boards. The Student Body President appoints students to vacant Senate seats and directors for the Executive Cabinet, Bureaus and Agencies.
